I’m excited to announce that new Gear Advisor feature is now available with the latest update of Dugi Guides. This is a free update for ALL Dugi Guides users.
The Gear Advisor feature offers:
- Automated gear suggestion based on your class, level and spec.
- Advanced weight calculation to ensure you equip the best set for DPS, Tanking or Healing
- Quest rewards suggestion to help you pick the best gear for your class & active spec
- Easy one click gear switching by using Dugi Smart Set in your equipment manager
- Upgrade value comparison displayed in tooltip.
This is called a beta release because we’re not 100% finish with it but the core feature is ready for you to use and test. We’re still working on adding more customization options and also support for PVP set after 5.3 is released.
Once it is all complete we will offer more support and release a detailed instructional video on how the feature works and how you can customize it to your advantage.

Dugi, Your guides are the greatest, I only get to play for a few hours a week, but with them I have taken multiple toons to level 90, worked on their professions, done dailies and dungeons. But the one thing I was always doing was going to other websites to get advice on gear and taking a lot of time to compare gear and stats to determine what to keep and what to throw. This latest enhancement is like you read my mind! Thanks so much for the awesome work!! I recommend your guides to all the WOW players I know!

Thank you for fixing the bagon problem–well done !!!
Also noticed on lower characters that the weather beaten fishing hat is recommended to replace higher head items–
Also on high level characters noticed that it was recommending swapping the already existing rings with each other– does it matter what ring location has priority over the other ??????
Also the exact very same thing was happening with the two trinket slots–was recommending swapping the already existing trinkets–does the trinket slot have a priority status ??????

@thinshaw, can you post a screenshot on the forum, or link your armory and the item.
The issue with the rings and trinket should also be fixed with the latest build.

Went back to character and reset ban tab– it was a level 30 character and said equip weatherbeaten fishing hat vs no head item– not believing that to be true lloked at character and yes there was NO head item
My mistake –jumped the gun–I always try and equip every item –made an assumption and it made me an ***

I’m running a Windwalker Monk. The Gear Advisor is suggesting Intellect items as an upgrade. Agiligy items is needed for Windwalkers.
I do like the Highest Vendor indicator.

@hklick, it might have other stats that is more beneficial that your current equipped, post a screenshot in the forum if you can. Also depends if you played around with the settings or not.

I love the concept of this additional feature–
But I am experiencing some real problems, I carry a few pieces of extra gear to swap out, I use add-on Bagon which opens all bags at one time, even if I disable using this new feature when I go to open my bags it takes 15 seconds to open them, the computer is frozen and I cant move–also happens when I click on quartermaster NPC–does not happen with NPC that has 5-6 items
I appears to even take longer when I enable your addon selections in gear set in your settings tab–if I disable dugis guide –I have no hesitation with bag opening etc.
@thinshaw, Bagon problem should be fixed with latest update.
Right now it seems a little buggy. It keeps telling me to equip my Weather Beaten Hat that I have for fishing instead of my level 400 helm. Also on my hunter, it doesn’t recognize I have 2 finger slots and wants me to replace my second best with the best.
Great job. Only concern i have is for amount of time it will take up in a dung or raid run if u pick up in the middle of a fight when the greed/need roll is completed on a previous fight. Have not run into a problem yet so probably premature worry. Really a great improvement and unexpected, making it even better.
@PBHawkeye, Shouldn’t be a problem at all.
Need to differentiate between PvE and PvP – perhaps an option that can be changed. On my PvP DK it kept telling me to swap out my PvP gear for PvE gear which is not at all what was needed.
Also I really don’t like that the window pops up every time I harvest on my farm, gather ore, or perform some other little task (this is a beta I get that but it is still annoying.)
Stat priority is very important and varies from spec to spec as well as PvP vs PvE. For a gear suggestion app this is a must. Soft caps also need to be considered.
So far I love all your products and this one, I am sure, will be amazing as well when finished. BTW on a slightly different topic a guide for the Insane in the Membrane achievement would be really cool. 🙂

What does your guide look for in a tanking class? Does it take into consideration for expertise and hit to the recommended cap vs dodge and parry until exp/hit caps are met? Also, how about suggestions that tell you which stats to change from using reforge and a total stat calc before it is done. Your guide can take current stats and hypothetical reforming to show what your stats would be. If I choose the changes then Dugi guides will automatically make them for me at the reforger.
Btw I have all your guides and love using them. Your vids on making gold are extremely well done. I have your competitor guides but I don’t even load that addon anymore.

yes to all of that, and reforging is not yet supported. But Gear Advisor should readjust automatically after you reforge.

Another great update as usual Dugi! I am continually impressed with the improvements you make to your guide and I’m looking forward to using it more and more to level up my characters in the future.
P.S. – will this work like Pawn? Should I delete Pawn now that this is built into the guide?
@Joseph Brownlow, Works similar to pawn but there are still benefits to using pawn such as gemming suggestions that we don’t have yet.
I started a new toon just to check this out and after several quick levels, it’s looking good. Of course I can’t speak for mid levels nor end game but I’m sure we’ll hear from others on that.. nevertheless, good job on it.
Great addition – just needs a few bugs ironing out… Today on my priest, it suggested I swap the Circuit of the Frail Soul that I’d just looted & equipped for the Viscous Ring I had replaced. It said…
If you replace this item, the following stat changes will occur…
-65 Intellect
301 Haste
-349 Critical Strike
-97 Stamina
-40 Spirit
Sure, Haste is nice, but not at the expense of all the other stats!:)
It also suggested earlier that I replace one of my equipped rings with my other equipped ring & the same with my trinkets (i.e. making no difference at all)!

in most cases, as a priest, haste is better than crit
@Calliann, Zookiaa @ Argent Dawn EU. I know haste is better than crit, but not by a huge amount (something like 1.1:1 – which would make 301 Haste roughly equal to 331 Crit), and certainly not when losing int, stamina, and spirit (which obviously doubles as hit). 🙂 Great new feature, though – I already love it, and once these niggles are sorted, it’ll be amazing 🙂
@Nik-W, can you link the Viscous Ring, I can’t seem to find it.
@Nik-W, there has to be another stat you failed to mention, as the Math doesn’t add up and the Gear Advisor wouldn’t suggest it.

Your Guide is the BEST!!! I have tried them all and I dropped them like a hot potato once I tried yours and have purchased all the add-ons… Thank You for adding this module as the you know “Z****” offered it but I never use that guide … KEEP UP the GOOD WORK.. I am a die hard client..
