You may have heard already our home town Christchurch was struck by 6.3 earthquake only months after 7.1 earthquake last september. The effects of this earthquake is much more devastating because the source of the earthquake was much shallower (only 5 km deep) and closer to the City.

I was driving with my wife and son for lunch the moment it happened, we were on the road just outside the central city we were lucky that we didn’t go to one of our favorite spots in the city.

We feel sorry for the people that have died, hundreds who are still missing and thousands of people who have lost their homes. We all feel very fortunate to be alive as it could have been any of us that day.

More news about the quake are best found in the NZ news website http://www.stuff.co.nz/

Everyone that we know are 100% fine and our homes are also fine, although some areas within walking distance from my house are badly damage, we have power and limited water supply.

I feel guilty to continue working while there is so much damage around us, but we were adviced to just stay home and look after each other and since most of us work from home we are able to carry on as usual.

Christchurch itself is devastated, most of the city have to be rebuilt. If you would like to somehow help you can visit this page below for a numbers of ways that you can help.

I cannot even imagine the pain and suffering that all the Kiwi’s are going through, but a heart sent, thinking of you is what I can give you. I have some friends from my guild that were caught up in the earthquake, but they are all fine. it was touch and go, because we had not heard anything from them for a day or so. But when they did log in, it was such a feeling of relief that they were alive.

I do hope that you are all well, and just to let you know we are thinking of you. Chin up. From my family to yours

Duggi…My heart goes out to you and the people in your town that suffered through the quakes. In 1989 my town, Santa Cruz Ca suffered a 7.1 earthquake. I was at home with my family and the quakes epic center was only one mile from my home. So, I know what all of you are going through and the suffering and hearthbreak many are experiencing. May God bless you all and be with you at this time of your need……………..Bill
